section 1: june – october (dry season)
Discover the best time to visit Lake Manyara National Park, featuring spectacular wildlife, flamingo gatherings, and lush landscapes for a unique safari.
From June to October, Lake Manyara National Park experiences its dry season, drawing wildlife toward the permanent water sources around the lake. During this period, the park’s acacia woodlands and grassy plains become hubs of activity for elephants, giraffes, buffalo, and lions.
Lake Manyara is also renowned for its incredible birdlife, including vast flocks of flamingos that color the lake pink, pelicans, storks, and kingfishers. This combination of terrestrial and avian wildlife makes it one of Tanzania’s most photogenic parks.
Safari-TZ recommends this season for travelers seeking excellent wildlife visibility, abundant birdlife, and peaceful safari experiences. The open landscapes make spotting animals easier, and the park is generally quieter than the Serengeti or Tarangire during the same months.
